The Wonderland English Bees (WEB) Olympiad is an international English language competition dedicated to enhancing language proficiency, fostering cross-cultural connections, and rewarding academic excellence among students aged 6 to 19. This Olympiad offers a comprehensive learning journey that covers grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and writing skills, with participants competing in two exciting rounds: the International Qualifiers and the Global Finals.

This competition merges academic growth with global friendships, cultivating an environment where students can deepen their understanding of other cultures and strengthen mutual respect.
The Global Finals bring together top-performing students from the International Qualifiers for an in-person competition held in Hurghada, Egypt, at a luxurious Red Sea resort. This beautiful setting offers not only rigorous exams but also thrilling activities, all aimed at enhancing cultural integration and fostering mutual understanding.
Categories
The WEB Olympiad is open internationally to students aged 6 to 19 years old.
The WEB Olympiad is structured across six levels, ensuring that each participant competes in a category suited to their age and English proficiency.
Below is an illustrative table showcasing the classifications based on grade, category, and proficiency level.
Participants have the option to compete in a category higher than their current grade level if they choose, but they cannot compete in a lower category. This flexibility allows ambitious students to challenge themselves at a higher proficiency level.
Preparation Courses
A placement test is available for students to take to assess their English proficiency level.
They also have the option to access a highly interactive 40-hour preparation course focused on strengthening grammar and vocabulary.
Aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), this course builds essential skills through engaging games, animated videos, and interactive activities, helping students gain confidence for the competition.
The WEB preparation courses are optional and can be purchased separately or as part of a Web Olympiad registration package.
International Qualifier
The competition begins with the International Qualifiers, held online from May to June 2025.
Exams are conducted through an auto-proctored system and focus primarily on grammar and vocabulary.
The exam format consists of multiple-choice questions, matching, fill-in-theblanks, rewriting tasks, and short-answer questions.
The exam duration ranges from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s category level as shown in the following table.
To honor participants for their achievements, dedication, and commitment to mastering English, the International Qualifiers recognize the top 30% of students with special awards.
The top 10% of students internationally are awarded Gold Medal Certificates, the following 10% receive Silver Medal Certificates, and the next 10% are awarded Bronze Medal Certificates.
Medalists are also invited to participate in the Global Finals, providing them with an exciting opportunity to compete face-to-face on an international stage.
All students receive a participation certificate to acknowledge their efforts.
Global Final
The Global Finals (October 2025) gather top-performing students (medalists) from the Qualifiers for a unique, in-person competition held in Hurghada, Egypt, at a luxurious Red Sea resort.
The Global Finals offer in-person, paper-based exams that test students' skills in grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and writing.
Exam formats include multiple-choice questions, matching, fill-in-the-blanks, short-answer questions, and writing tasks.
The exam duration ranges from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s category level as shown in the following table. Global Finals
The registration fee for the Global Finals includes double-room accommodation at a luxury resort on the Red Sea, with participants sharing a room with either a fellow competitor or a parent.
This fee covers the final examination, full-board accommodation, a variety of fun activities for students and adults, and entry to the grand award ceremony.
Upon receiving an invitation to the Global Finals (mid June, 2025, students will have 10 days to confirm their registration and complete payment to secure their place.

Wonderland STEM and Leadership Camp in Niagara Falls
The top three students in each category will be awarded a 15% discount on the Wonderland Niagara Falls STEM & Leadership Camp in Canada. All finalists will receive 10% discount on the camp registration fees.
Cash Awards
The top student in each category will receive a rewarding cash prize
Medals and Participation Certificates
Every finalist is recognized with a medal and certificate for their achievement.
Teacher Discounts:
To honor educators, the teachers of winning students receive 50% discount on TESOL Qualifications (Ofqual-regulated).
Wall of Fame and Digital Platforms:
Top performers, winners, and their schools are featured on the TEFL Wonderland Wall of Fame and other digital platforms.
